Past Writer's Retreats
About the Rosemont Writers' Retreat (June 2016 Information)
Located on a 56-acre campus in an attractive, historic suburban community, Rosemont College is a peaceful sanctuary located just minutes by train from center city Philadelphia. This year the retreat offers students either a weekend (June 17-19), a weeklong (June 19-24), or combination session (June 17-24). The retreat is also available for graduate college credit. For more information please contact the program director, Carla Spataro (email@example.com).
The weekend session will be an intensive three days of workshopping and discussion beginning on Friday evening and ending on Sunday at noon. During the weeklong session, days will begin with an elective yoga practice. At noon there will be a craft lecture and interview with a well-known author. Afternoons will be spent in an intense three-hour workshop run by an instructor who is not only an accomplished writer in his or her own right, but also an experienced teacher. Workshops will be limited to no more than ten participants, ensuring that each author will have plenty of critique time. Nightly faculty readings and receptions, along with an open mic, will offer plenty of networking opportunities, but the emphasis will be on immersing yourself in the writing life and your own work.
Some instructors may request advance copies of the work that you wish to workshop.
