Presidential Medals, Honor Societies & Outstanding Achievements Recognized

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, Rosemont College proudly celebrated Academic Honors Day 2026, a cherished tradition that shines a spotlight on the brightest minds in our community. This signature event recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, leadership, and unwavering commitment to their fields of study. Families, faculty, and staff gathered on campus to cheer on these exceptional scholars whose hard work and dedication continue to elevate the Rosemont experience.

Outstanding Junior Award

In 1976, the faculty established the Outstanding Junior Award to recognize and honor outstanding work in a major field by a student in their junior year at Rosemont. The student must be in the top ranks of the junior class with at least a 3.67 cumulative GPA. They must be nominated by the faculty in their major discipline and selected by the Academic Standards Committee.

Outstanding Achievement at the Graduate Level

Eligible recipients for the Outstanding Achievement at the Graduate Level Awards include students who are matriculated in a degree granting graduate program with the anticipation of being eligible to participate in the May commencement (inclusive of graduates from September and January degree conferrals) of the current year. Recipients are selected by their Program Director on the basis of outstanding GPA, academic excellence, and overall contributions to the educational environment.

Kistler Honors Society

Membership in the Kistler Honor Society is earned by full time juniors and seniors in the Undergraduate College who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.67 for two consecutive full-time semesters with no incompletes and not more than one grade of pass/fail, exclusive of those courses that are only graded on a pass/fail basis.  The Honor Society is named for the late Mr. & Mrs. Sedgwick Kistler, friends and benefactors of Rosemont College.

Alpha Sigma Lambda

The national honor society that partners with colleges and universities to celebrate the scholarship and leadership of adult students in higher education. We are proud to recognize these students of our Professional Studies programs and to admit them today as members of Epsilon Upsilon, Rosemont’s chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda.

The criteria for Baccalaureate Degree Membership in this honor society requires a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, attendance at Rosemont during at least one session in the preceding calendar year, completion of at least 36 graded credits at Rosemont, and rank within the top 10% of students pursuing an accelerated degree within Professional Studies.
