Rosemont College is pleased to share an outstanding opportunity for emerging and established Scholars and Writers. The Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers is now accepting applications for its international fellowship program, which offers a $90,000 stipend along with dedicated workspace and full access to the extraordinary collections of the New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.
This competitive fellowship supports individuals whose work will benefit directly from sustained access to the Library’s resources. It is an exceptional possibility for academics, independent scholars, and creative writers to advance major projects in a stimulating intellectual environment.
Who Should Apply?
The Cullman Center welcomes applications from a wide range of Scholars and Writers, including:
- Academics and independent scholars
- Novelists, playwrights, and poets
- Visual artists working on a book project
The program is designed for people whose research or creative work will be strengthened by access to the Library’s physical and electronic collections. Each year, the Center appoints 15 Fellows for a nine month term running from September through May.
What Fellows Receive
Selected Scholars and Writers receive significant support to focus deeply on their projects. Benefits include:
- Use of a private office with a computer
- Full access to the New York Public Library’s physical and electronic resources
- A stipend of $90,000 for the fellowship term
In addition to independent work, Fellows participate in an ongoing exchange of ideas within the Center and in public forums throughout the Library. This combination of solitude for focused writing or research and structured intellectual community makes the fellowship especially valuable.
Application Deadline & Next Steps
The deadline to apply is Friday, September 25, 2026, at 5:00pm EDT. Interested Scholars and Writers are encouraged to review the full guidelines and prepare their materials carefully in advance of the deadline.
