Rosemont College came together in beautiful fashion on Friday, May 1st, for the 2026 May Day Celebration. The beloved spring tradition brought students, faculty, staff, and community members to campus for an eventful afternoon.
Many people attended the May Day Celebration 2026, gathering on Connelly Green starting at 3:00pm. The free event, sponsored by the Cultural Heritage Gallery, welcomed everyone with open arms and no registration required. At 3:40pm, guests transitioned smoothly to the Kistler Memorial Library, where the celebration continued indoors with even more engaging activities and refreshments.
Highlights from the Day
The May Day Celebration 2026 was packed with meaningful and fun traditions, including:
- Traditional Maypole decorating and dancing
- The beautiful Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary
- Presentations on the Yggdrasil Tree in Norse Mythology and the history of bringing back May Day at Rosemont
- The Patricia Kennedy Tea Parties Project display
- Club and project windows showcasing student creativity
- Award Ceremony for the May Monarchs
- Interactive garden workshops
- Sophomore class tree planting ceremony
- Tea, light refreshments, delicious food, and sweet treats
The combination of history, culture, music, and hands on activities created a warm and uplifting atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of spring.
It offered a peaceful pause near the end of the semester for the entire community to reflect, celebrate, and strengthen bonds.
