THE SPIRIT WITHIN: Faces in the Philadelphia Art Community

October 8, 2015 – October 29, 2015

Lawrence Gallery at Rosemont College is pleased to announce a new exhibit “The Spirit Within: Faces in the Philadelphia Art Community” on display Thursday, October 8 to Thursday, October 29, 2015. An opening reception will take place Thursday, October 8 from 4-7:00 p.m., and Judith Harold-Steinhauser will speak at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all.

The photographs are of people and made with a large camera in the studio. Working one on one with a person at the slow pace necessitated by this camera encourages a rich and complex human territory to come alive in front of the lens. These photographs are an act of collaboration, confrontation, and discovery for each of us, to explore and probe. This exploration is amplified by her choice of subjects; all are active in the arts community.
