Students who have exemplified excellence in academics and a commitment to social justice are eligible for the full-tuition Cornelian Scholarship. Students must have a 3.25 weighted GPA and 1170 on the SAT or 24 on the ACT and attend a Catholic High School to be considered.
The scholarship is named for Cornelia Connelly, the founder of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, and covers full tuition and fees at Rosemont College.
To be considered as a finalist for the Cornelian Scholarship you will need to submit the following by January 12, 2018:
- Essay- 500 words on the following topic: The Cornelian mission is based on persistence and courage in promoting justice with compassion. Describe a personal experience in which you promoted a cause that you felt was just. What was the result? What did you learn from this experience?
- Letter of recommendation (1) from a source other than that used for your Rosemont College application. This could be a counselor, teacher, or a member of the community who is familiar with your academic work and/or your community service work. The Cornelian Scholarship Selection Committee will notify finalists no later than February 9, 2018. Finalists will then be invited to campus on February 19, 2018 for an interview with the selection committee.
